Bengaluru: Lokayukta warns CS of failing to take action against erring officers

Bengaluru, Sep 28: It is learnt that Lokayukta justice Vishwanath Shetty has verbally warned T M Vijay Bhaskar, chief secretary (CS) of the government of hesitating to take action against the officers who have been punished by the Lokayukta in various cases.

Reliable sources have said that the Lokayukta has instructed the CS that "Lokayukta is striving to control corruption. However, the government is not responding properly. As various complaints were received, we have conducted investigation against the accused officers and have recommended the government to take action immediately. However, the government is not taking our instructions seriously. Instead of taking action against the erring officers, the government is seeking an explanation from them. The process of asking explanation from the erring officers should stop."
