Mangaluru: Anti-rowdy squad arrests two chain snatchers, recovers loot

Mangaluru, Dec 10: Mangaluru city central sub-division anti-rowdy squad police in an operation arrested two chain snatchers and recovered 126.960 grams gold worth Rs 3, 64,000 and an Activa scooter from them. The total value of the loot recovered from them is Rs 3, 74,000.

The arrested are Harish S Nath(45) permanent resident of Kotekar, Deralakatte, Mangaluru and residing at present in Henry Compound, Jeppu Bappal, Mangaluru and Rajesh(45), resident near Pakkaladka Yuvaka Mandala, Bajal Post, Kankanady, Mangaluru.

One case at Urwa police station, one case at Barke police station, two cases at Kadri police station, one case at Kavoor police station and two cases at Mangaluru south police station were registered against them.

Police commissioner T R Suresh, deputy police commissioners Hanumantharaya, Uma Prashanth, assistant police commissioner Mangaluru central sub-division Bhaskar Vokkaliga, central sub- division anti-rowdy squad police inspector Ravish S Nayak, sub-inspector Pradeep T R, staff Valentine George D’ Souza, Gangadhar N, Santhosh Sasihitlu, Kishore Kotian, Pramod Mary Hill, Nagaraj Chandaragi and Basavaraja Naika took part in the operation.
