Udupi, Dec 30: Udupi district citizen committee held a programme in Maruthi Veethika here in the evening on Saturday, December 29 to pay homage and pray for eternal rest to the soul of upright and honest police officer Madhuker Shetty.

Badagubettu cooperative society general manager Jayakar Shetty Indrali said that we have lost a sincere police officer who was disastrous for corrupt officials. “His loss in the state cannot be made good,” he said praying to the almighty for strength to the family of Madhuker Shetty to bear his absence. Retired ASI Kelu Narayan paid tributes and last respects by a minute’s silent prayer, offering flowers to the portrait of late Madhuker Shetty.

Citizen committee honorary president M Nagesh Hegde, chief secretary Nithyananda Olakadu, member Taranath Mestha Shirur, Mohammed, Sudhaker Shetty, Sunil Shet, Sudhaker Olakadu, Umesh and others were present.
