Kaup: Tipper - bike accident - bike rider loses life

Kaup, Dec 30: Sikant Mogaveera (23), who was riding a motor bike from Saibrakatte in Udupi district towards Mangaluru was killed on the spot after a tipper that approached the motor bike on extreme left side of the road, dashed against the two-wheeler. The accident happened on the evening of Saturday December 29 opposite the petrol bunk here.

Sandesh (35), who was riding the pillion, suffered fracture of the right leg in this accident. He stands admitted into a private hospital at Udupi for treatment.

Srikant and Sandesh were children of two sisters. They were on their way to attend a house warming function at Mangaluru when tragedy struck. The tipper was trying to position itself on the highway from the petrol bunk when the accident happened.

A case about the accident was registered in the police station here. Policemen have undertaken investigation.
