Kadaba: Wooden log rolls down, crushes forest watcher to death

Kadaba, Dec 30: After a wooden log that was being loaded onto a truck rolled down, a forest watcher standing nearby and watching the loading work was killed. The incident happened at Lavathadka near Udane in Shiradi village.

Wooden logs belonging to the forest department were being loaded into a truck at Lavathadka on Saturday December 29. Kushalappa Gowda (52), a forest watcher and son of Babu Gowa from Rekhya was watching the loading work. As a log fell on him suddenly and seriously injured him, Kushalappa breathed his last.

At the time of the accident, Kushalappa was overseeing the work of shifting wooden logs of the deportment to its depot. He is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter. Assistant conservator of forests, Subrahmanya Rao, ranger, Sandhya and other officials visited the spot.
