Moodbidri, Jan 2: In an incident which happened at Lavanthabettu road within the town limits on Tuesday January 1, a two-wheeler rider collapsed when on his vehicle and passed away. The victim has been identified as Prasad Acharya, only son of the late Ganapati Acharya from Maroor.

Prasad was on his way home from the town. People had seen that he had stopped his vehicle near Prakash Oil Mill for a couple of minutes in the middle of the road. Thereafter, he collapsed onto the road along with the vehicle. The locals rushed to help him, tried to help him recover and rushed him to a hospital. However, it is said that by then, he had died of massive heart attack.

A case about the incident was registered at the town police station here. Prasad, who was unmarried, was working in a foreign country for a few years. Recently he had joined as an employee of a firm involved with interior decoration at Bengaluru. This tragedy happened when he was on a visit to his native place.

Prasad, who was the pillar of support for his family, has left behind his family comprising mother and seven sisters.
