Kasargod: Karnataka cadre IPS officer Shilpa Devaiah new ASP

Kasargod, Jan 2: Karnataka cadre IPS officer, Shilpa Devaiah, has taken charge as the new assistant superintendent of police of the district. Her mother tongue is Kannada. She took over charge on Sunday December 30 and began working at her office since January 1.

Shilpa has been posted in place of deputy superintendent of police, M V Sukumaran, who retired from service on December 31.

Shilpa expects the work here to be a rare experience, as this place is a confluence of people speaking a number of languages. She said that her first preference will be to maintain law and order and finding solutions to people's problems. She has sought cooperation of everyone to achieve these objectives.

The current superintendent of police here, Dr A Srinivas is also a Kannadiga, who hails from Shivamogga.
