It is said that a gang led by Ranjith from the same village had attacked Sandesh. Sandesh works as the driver of a city bus.

Sandesh was speaking to people known to him near the Yuvaka Mandali in fifth block, Krishnapura at around 9 am on Thursday when a gang of three led by Ranjith suddenly approached him in a motor bike and swung sword at him. It is gathered that Sandesh and Rajith were friends for long before differences arose over petty issues concerning a marriage. The two were involved with fight over a trivial issue in the past, and this was the reason for the attack on Thursday, sources said.

On the basis of a complaint filed, Suratkal police have registered a case of murder attempt. The police are trying to nab the missing miscreants.
