Manaluru: Woman seeks high level probe into husband's gunning down

Mangaluru, Jan 5: "The body of my husband, George, was found recently in Bhagamandala forest area. He was fired at and killed. Accused in the case are yet to be arrested. Hence, this case should be entrusted for high level probe by Central Bureau of Investigastion or other agencies," Sofiyamma, wife of George from a village in Kasargod district urged Karnataka government.

She was speaking at a press conference held here on Friday January 4.

She said that on December 11, 2018, her husband had left as usual to work as coolie. His body was found from Bhagamandala forest area the next day. She got this information from Ashokan, who was with George. She said she suspects involvement of Ashokan and his friends in this murder and accused Bhagamandala police of not conducting proper investigation in this case. Therefore, she said she is requesting the chief minister to order a detailed investigation.

She said she wants to know who shot her husband and why. She pointed out that the shirt her husband was wearing when he was killed has not been found. She urged the government to hold an impartial investigation and arrest the culprits.
