Mangaluru: ICYM Omzoor unit celebrates New Year's eve for noble cause

Mangaluru, Jan 5: ICYM Omzoor unit celebrated New Year's Eve with a holy Eucharistic celebration by invoking blessings from the Almighty and to welcome New Year 2019.
After the mass, ICYM Omzoor unit organised a New Year celebration at the church grounds.

Fr Alwyn Dcunha - parish priest, Omzoor church presided over the programme along with Patrick Pinto - vice president, Omzoor parish pastoral council. Cultural programmes like singing, dance performances were held and fun games were conducted. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.



On this auspicious occasion, ICYM Omzoor unit came up with humanitarian work. A 24 year old youth from Omzoor, has lost his kidneys and now undergoes dialysis thrice a week at Fr Mullers Hospital, Mangaluru. For this noble cause, ICYM members conducted an American auction of rooster cock which was led by Elroy Patrick Saldanha, Omzoor. Within half an hour, the total amount accumulated from the auction was Rs 1,57,500.

The youth are the real future of our society. So let us empower our youth, guide and strengthen them. The target of these young minds is to collect another Rs 6,00,000 for the kidney transplantation. Anyone inspired to join ICYM in their noble and humanitarian mission is welcome.
