Mangaluru, Jan 7: On the occasion of the annual church feast, scheduled to be held on January 9, confraternity Sunday was celebrated at Infant Jesus Church, Modankap hereby on January 6.

In memory of 316 years of the church, the grotto dedicated to Infant Jesus, set up at the church premises was inaugurated and blessed.

Fr William D’Souza S J, archbishop, Patna diocese inaugurated and blessed the grotto followed by the rituals of the blessings of the newly built grotto and novena in preparation for the annual feast was conducted.

Donors and patrons who contributed to the grotto work were felicitated.

This was followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr William D’Souza, S J and homily by Fr Ashwin Cardoza, assistant diocesan youth director.

After mass, adoration with Eucharistic procession and benediction was held.

Fr Walter D’Mello, parish priest, Fr Ashwin Crasta, assistant parish priest, Fr Jerald Sequeira, Fr Alwyn D’Souza were present.

A large number of parishioners and devotees witnessed the celebrations.
