Udupi: Six from Shivamogga diagnosed of KFD

Udupi, Jan 8: A release from Kasturba Medical College Hospital Manipal said that the six patients from Shivamogga district who stand admitted into the hospital have been diagnosed with Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD).

About 41 patients from Sagar taluk and surrounding areas of Shivamogga district had been admitted into this hospital with suspected KFD. After testing, six among them have been identified as suffering from KFD. Out of them, three have been treated and discharged. Three others continue to be treated in the hospital.

The hospital confirmed that no patient has died in the hospital due to this disease.
