Bengaluru, Jan 9: Film producer, Rockline Venkatesh, and Kannada actor, Shiva Rajkumar, appeared before the officials at the income tax office on Queens Road here on Tuesday January 8 separately. They provided details of their respective sources of income to the officials, it is said.

Rockline Venkatesh came to the income tax office on Tuesday morning. Income tax sources said that information about investments made by Rockline Venkatesh in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu movies was collected from him.

Shiva Rajkumar came to the office accompanied by his brother-in-law and JD(S) leader, Madhu Bangarappa, on Tuesday afternoon. He was questioned about investments made, income earned from different films, and details of taxes if any paid, it is said. The officials indicated that he may be summoned again for providing further details. He was asked to provide documents about the funds invested in films and reason for handling huge amount of cash. Clarification was sought on the difference in tax payments too, it is said.

The officials also gathered information about business and other concerns run in the names of family members. The sources say that on the face of it, the officials believe that tax evasion was found and further steps would be taken after conducting further questioning.

Shiva Rajkumar, speaking to media persons after coming out of the office of the income tax, said that the officials treated him well and he had a harmonious exchange of information. He said that the officials indicated that he might be called again in case of need. He said he or his chartered accountant might appear in that case, to provide information. "I am facing this investigation for the first time. I have respect for the officials. The officials spoke affectionately to me about my father," he stated.
