New Delhi, Mar 3: India scored a thumping win over Australia in the 1st one-dayer played in Hyderabad. Let’s look at the aspects which helped India win the 1st of 5 matches easily.
India were much disciplined with the ball and restricted Australia to a modest score of 236-7. Aaron Finch form slump continued. He was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah on a duck. Kuldeep Yadav was the other one who was very economical giving just 46 runs in his 10 overs. Marcus Stoinis and Usman Khawaja tried to steady the Australian innings with a partnership of 87 runs but India was able to restrict the Australians for a modest 236 in 50 overs. Jasprit Bumrah though gave 60 runs in his 10 overs which is probably bring some worry to the Indian think tank as he is one of the most dependable and most economical bowlers in the Indian line-up.
Kohli as usual was in a great nick hitting six fours and a six in his innings of 44.he along with Rohit Sharma added 76 runs for the 2nd wicket. Adam Zampa struck the Indian captain when he seemed to be in a very good rhythm. Kohli as usual steadied the Indian innings with a very good pace. India, however lost some quick wickets after the 87 runs 2nd wicket partnership and were reduced to 99-4 in the 24th over.

India looked in trouble but it was again ever dependable Dhoni who helped India in chasing down the Australian score. Dhoni has done it umpteen times before and did it again. Many question the relevance of Dhoni and accuse him of slowing down the scoring rate. But he is one who stands like a rock and helps the batsman at the other end and creates winning partnerships. Dhoni has won scores of games for India in this fashion and his doubters must have received a set back after his last night innings. Kadar Jadhav has shown time and again that he is a very useful player for India. He plays some unorthodox shots and is very-very effective. Both these basemen amassed 141 runs for the fifth wicket while Australia fruitlessly continued their efforts to get them out. Dhoni made 59 no out while Kedar remained not out on 81.
