Mangalore: Blood Donation Camp of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust

Mangalore, Feb 13: A blood donation camp is being organized at Dr M V Shetty Trust Colleges in Kavoor, in the city, on Saturday February 14..

The camp will be inaugurated by Dr S Ramanand Shetty, vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore. The inaugural function will be presided by Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder and secretary of Dr M V Shetty Trust Colleges.

In India, about 300 women die during pregnancy each day because of lack of blood. Demand for blood far surpasses its supply. One person can save about 2,000 lives during his life span if he regularly donates blood with an interval of three months between them, a note by the Trust said.

Over 100 volunteers from various colleges of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust will be participating in the Blood Donation Camp.
