Mangalore, Feb 16: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president R V Deshpande said, that the first list of the Congress candidates for the ensuing Loksabha election will be released before the 25th of this month.  He also revealed, that party national president Sonia Gandhi has summoned him to Delhi for finalizing the first list of candidates from the state. He will be going to Delhi after attending a programme being held at Sullia on Monday February 16.

He also informed, that he would continue with the tour of the district after coming back from Delhi. He further revealed, that the party is yet to finalize its candidates from Udupi and Mangalore Loksabha constituencies. He identified Janardan Poojary, Veerappa Moily, Vinay Kumar Sorake and Manjunath Bhandary as the ones interested in entering the poll fray from city constituency, while D K Taradevi, Jayprakash Hegde, B L Shankar and Chandre Gowda have expressed keen interest in becoming the party candidates from Udupi. However, the high command will be taking a final decision on the candidates, he said. He also added, that the party would be releasing the final list of candidates by March 5.
