Mumbai ANC cell arrested Nepalese man with 1 kg opium

Mumbai, Jun 2: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in Mumbai has arrested a Nepalese national near P D’Mello Road on Friday for carrying one kg opium worth Rs 10 lakh. The accused has been identified as Bharilal Khatri (36) from Nepal.

He was arrested while going to make a delivery in South Mumbai said ANC officials. The accused had hided the opium in specially stitched compartments in his underwear.

The official said “Khatri is a labour contractor who is living in Karjat, he recently came to India with 12 other men who all work in the private sector. He would give small quantities of opium to each man to deliver. Most of them work in hotels in Mumbai, Nashik and Gujarat.”
