Mumbai, Jun 3: Ashalatha Vijayakumar Shetty (78), resident of Meghadoot Cooperative Housing Society, Vikhroli east passed away at Godrej Hospital, Vikhroli east on June 1 after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Bharatiya Kala Mandir founder, well known classical dramatist Krishna Kantappa Shetty, hailing from Kadekar Barmayya clan of Udupi district.

She has left behind three sons including Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra member, Manipal Media Network Limited’s Manoj V Shetty, a daughter and large number of friends and relatives.
