Mangalore: Tampering with Marks Earned by LLB Students: Suspicion Points towards Lecturer

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 9: As reported earlier, the reputation of Mangalore suffered badly after a scandal involving the tampering with the marks of the LLB final year students was unearthed recently. The committee formed to look into the issue found that manipulators had changed the marks while copying marks from the 'A' form in which the marks given by evaluators are recorded, to the ledger.

It is learnt, the committee has pointed its fingers of suspicion a lecturer of government women's PU college, Car Street here, who had been deputed for the tabulation work. It is said, he accepted money and favoured the students by noting higher marks against their names in the ledger. The committee also guessed that a few employees in the office of the registrar for evaluation would have worked hand in glove in the manipulation.

The committee found 74 cases in which marks were tampered with, of which 60 cases pertained to SDM Law College in the city alone. Students of Vaikunta Baliga Law College Udupi, Vivekananda Law College Puttur etc., too were benefitted in the above way.

Mangalore University vice chancellor K M Kaveriappa has said that all the manipulated LLB results will be withdrawn and the marks cards issued to the candidates would be taken back. The university will also be seeking an explanation from the concerned, and notices will be served on those who participated in the tabulation work. Another committee will investigate the issue of manipulation of marks, he added.

Kaveriappa explained further, that memos would be issued to erring persons and the department of collegiate education will be asked to initiate further steps against them, as they are not the employees of the university.

These kind of activities have been going on from ages. When I was appearing for my SSLC in 1987, then too rumours we not new for tampering with answer sheets, especially by the tabulators who erring teachers. When I again finished my B.com, rumors were not new for tampering and when I completed my LLB, I know of certain instances where a brother of a leading advocate passed his LLB. And in all the cases the people involved were lecturers and all this happenned in Mangalore University. Teachers and lecturers were once reverved and honoured, but due to the actions of a few for monetary gains all in the teaching profession are being looked down upon. I request DAIJIWORLD to ask any investigative journalist to uncover the misdeeds and never let such a thing happen again in future.

YES! God is TRUTH, and it will survive on its own. Truth also enlightens some to intervene at the appropriate time. That is what GREAT INDIA is known for in the history of CIVILIZATION. No redeemer from God can survive long on this earth as the Devil and Money are in perfect agreement to promote ignorance and goondaism. Now we can RECALL that similar agents of darkness were also involved in spreading allegations about non-issuance of HALL-TICKETS by St. Aloysius to students who did not have sufficient attendance. Truth is so simple it can stand on its own. May be people will suffer for a while but The Almighty always wins as it does not require approval from earthly leaders and evaluators.
