Udupi: ICYM, YCS organise parish level singing competition at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva

Udupi, Aug 27: ICYM and YCS units of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva organised a parish level singing competition at Saude Sabha Bhavan Hall, Shirva.

Fr Denis D'Sa, dean and parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva, Fr Mahesh D'Souza, asst priest and principal of Don Bosco CBSE School (ICYM in charge), Fr Ashwin Aranha, asst priest (YCS incharge), Wilson D'Souza (animator of ICYM), Leena Machado, secretary, Melwyn Aranha (18 commission co-coordinator) and ICYM president Godwin Monis, Fr Clement Mascarenhas, parish priest of Moodubelle, Br Pradeep Cardoza, (hailing from Chikkamagaluru and currently doing theology at St Joseph Seminary, Mangaluru) and Ashwin Correa, guitarist from Udyavar judged the competition.



The competition had various genres of boys and girls aged 5-10 , boys and girls 11-15, ladies and gents aged 15+ solo, duet and ward group singing. Each of the genres had first, second and third places. 250 parishioners participated in the competition. Accordingly points were allotted to each ward on the basis of winning in order to win the overall championship. The overall champion of the singing competition was Shanthi, ward runner up by Convent ward and Kudthamajal ward.

Office bearers and ICYM and YCS members were present in this programme.
