Karkala, Sep 21: The executive officer of the taluk panchayat here has filed a complaint in the town police station here, naming former panchayat development officer (PDO) of Kukkundur panchayat, Sudhakar Shetty, as the accused. He has charged Sudhakar Shetty of using the revenue collected on behalf of the government for meeting personal expenses instead of depositing the same into different heads of accounts of the government.
The executive officer said that Sudhakar Shetty, who was working in Kukkundur panchayat from 2016 till May this year, of not crediting taxes and fees collected under various heads like building licence, labour welfare fee, 9/11 fee etc to the government account, and misusing a sum of Rs 4,28,350 for his own use.
The complaint was filed by taluk panchayat executive officer, Harsha K Bon September 20.
