Udupi, Jul 17: After a huge tree fell across national highway 17 at Moodabettu near Pangala between Kaup and Udupi in the early hours on Thursday July 16, the highway traffic was disrupted for about four hours.

The tree got uprooted at about 5.15 am, but there was delay in removing it. As a result, vehicles got stranded on both the sides of the spot for hours on end. People bound for educational institutions and offices suffered as a result.

A truck that developed engine problems and got stranded on Udyavar bridge on Thursday morning also affected the traffic on the highway for over an hour.
