Are you from Imran Khan’s team: Trump to reporter over Kashmir issue

Daijiworld Media Network - New York (SHP)

New York, Sep 24: In a joint press meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, US President, Trump kept dodging a question from one of the journalists. The journalist made a 'statement' on the Kashmir issue, which made India the aggressor and Pakistan the peacemaker.

Trump, stated that the journalist was making a rhetorical statement rather than asking a question. He went ahead and asked Imran Khan, "Where do you find reporters like this? These guys are fantastic."

"Are you from his (Imran Khan’s) team? You are saying things that you think. Your's is not a question but a statement," Trump questioned the journalist.

Trump also made a statement where he claimed that Pakistan lived in a friendly neighbourhood. Further, into the meet, he also offered to mediate in the Kashmir issue. Although, India has repeatedly asserted that Kashmir is an 'internal matter', even when Pakistan has tried to rope in international support over the issue.

On the point of being a mediator, Trump claimed that he has cordial relation with Modi and Khan and continued to boast his trait of being a good arbitrator.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday, briefed the US lawmakers, scholars, human rights activists and the media on the ill effects of the abrogation of Article 370 by India on August 5.

It was worth watching Imran's face at that moment. He knows how shrewd the President is. He is so blunt in his press meet.

Looks like Modiji's scheme against Imran Khan is not accomplishing as Modi Saab expected. Because the middle man is more of a business minded than a peace maker. He wants to sell arms to both the trouble makers. Now Modi has to pay a surprise visit to Putin to resolve the issue.

Imran has openly asked for Trump to mediate on the Kashmir issue and Trump has also indicated he is willing to mediate. Ball is in India's court now. But india is saying will only abide by Shimla agreement and no outside interference ...But somehow I feel, Trump will be biased and supportive, more towards Pakistan than India even though he claims Modi is his close friend, because of the persistent Taliban problem in Afghanistan and the Taliban being indirectly supported by Pakistan, and the USA unwilling to negotiate with Taliban now, with their talks failing in Qatar, and US casualties increasing in Afghanistan due to increased suicide bombings leading up to the Afghanistan presidential elections to be held end of month.
