Mangalore, Jul 18: The personnel of the Coastal Security police station here, arrested a person named Hamid (28), a resident of Katangara Gudde House in K P Road, Someshwar Ucchila, who was engaged in illegally selling charas, a banned drug at Ullal Someshwar on Friday July 17. They seized Charas weighing over a kilogram, which is worth about four lac rupees from him. Another accused, named Siddiq (25), has absconded. The policemen have launched a manhunt for him.
The raid was led by Coastal Security Force sub-inspector Mukund Nayak. The policemen, who got the information that charas was being sold to the customers on the sea shore near Somanatheshwar Extension of Someshwar, swooped in on the drug peddlars at about 11.30 am on Friday.
