Kaup, Sep 25: After a lorry loaded with LPG cylinders rammed into a car near Uchila - Paniyoor Cross on national highway 66 on Tuesday, September 24 morning, four persons suffered injuries.

Naveen (26), a native of Hassan district, currently posted as a project engineer for the university building under construction at Belapu near Padubidri, Manju (32) from Shivamogga, who works as a security person, Manjunath (23), from Chitradurga and Praveen (25) from Shivamogga suffered injuries. Naveen and Manju suffered grave injuries.

The injured were admitted into a private hospital. Those who suffered injuries, work at the university building at Belapu, had visited Uchila from Belapu to collect a parcel received by bus. They had reached the highway in their car by Paniyoor road when a lorry carrying LPG cylinders from Thirthahalli to Mangaluru reportedly hit the car hard.

The car, due to the impact of the accident, jumped over the divider. The accident created problems for traffic on the highway for some time. Padubidri police arranged to clear the highway after which traffic resumed. The car was badly mangled in the accident. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
