Udupi, Jul 21:
Although the torrential rains and heavy winds across the district have abated a little, the sea erosion has intensified on the coast along the Arabian Sea, here.

Huge waves have hit hard and sea erosion is widespread. In Tenka Yermal, a fisheries road running parallel to the shore was extensively damaged on Monday July 20.

The waves also carried away large boulders that were temporarily dumped to support the fisheries road.

The district administration has taken necessary measures to dump more boulders on the areas most prone to sea erosion along the coast.  The transport contractor has pressed his workmen to undertake temporary measures in this regard.
