Mangalore: Fr Muller Medical College Marks ‘Vanamahotsava Day’

Mangalore, Jul 21: ‘Vanamahotsava Day’ was held at the Fr Muller Medical College (FMMC) campus here recently.  The event was organized by the members of the NSS.

Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator, Fr Muller Medical College, Fr Stany Tauro, administrator Fr Muller Hospital, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, Fr Muller Medical College, Rekha, professor and head of the department of microbiology, and Dr Sanjeev Rai, chief medical officer, FMMC.
 
The programme began with a prayer song by the MBBS batch of 2006. It was followed by a speech from Fr D’Sa stressing the importance of environmental awareness amongst today’s doctors.

Fr Tauro also spoke about the need to conserve the environment for future generations.

After the programme concluded, the NSS members along with the students of FMMC planted saplings in various places around the campus to commemorate ‘Vanamahotsava’.
