Udupi: Police Nab Thief, Recover Gold Ornaments

Udupi, Jul 21:
City police, in a swift operation, on Monday July 20, nabbed a thief who had stolen gold ornaments from the house of Amir Adam Saheb, a resident of Kombagudde, near Kaup. 
 
The accused is Ismail (28), a resident of Uttar Karnataka, who was nabbed near Shirva.  The police also recovered all the stolen jewellery from his possession. 



Ismail confessed that he had stolen the jewellery from the house of Amir Adam Saheb on the night of Wednesday July 15, when the entire family was in Mangalore with their relatives. 

The theft came to light only when the family returned home on the night of Saturday July 18. 
 
Circle inspector Cheluvaraj and Kaup sub-inspector Joy Anthony led Doomanna, Shivanna K J, Santosh, Raghavendra, probationary sub-inspector Vasant Kumar, Ashok, and Sridar in nabbing the accused.  The operation was conducted under the direction of superintendent of police (SP) Madhkar Praveen Pawar and deputy SP Santosh Kumar.
