Karwar: Youth visiting Gokarn for Father's Post-funeral Rites, Drowns

Karwar, Jul 22: Anilkumar Lakshmipati Sharma (22), a priest by profession and serving in a temple in Chickballapur in the state, slipped into the Koti Teertha tank near Lord Mahabaleshwara Temple and breathed his last on Sunday July 19.

He had come here along with his mother, to discharge the bones to liberate the soul of his father, who had died two months ago, as per the Hindu customs. While taking bath in Koti Teertha, he reportedly slipped and drowned. 

His shocked mother was given solace and the youth's relatives were intimated of the sad development. The relatives arrived from Bangalore to take the body and the bereaved mother home.
