Udupi, Oct 2: Udupi district Billava Yuva Vedike (R), here, recently celebrated 165th Brahmashree Narayan Guru Jayanti at Sri Mahalingeshwara temple auditorium, Bannanje, here.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister of ports and inland transports, Karnataka, was the chief guest of the programme. He stated that temples which come under muzarai department receive funds from the government and hence free mass marriage must be done for the poor. We must face problems in life and step ahead said Kota Srinivas Poojary. People from Billawa Samaj were honoured by the minister.
Crowds of people from Billawa Samaj were present at the programme. On the occasion, district-level elocution, essay and quiz competitions were conducted.
Praveen M Poojary, president, district Billava Yuva Vedike in his message said, "Similar to the message of Brahmashree Narayan Guru of one caste and religion, we have given a chance to all religions for students to participate in the competition.”
