Sullia, Jul 23: A person who claimed himself to be a member of parliament and succeeded in getting some preferential treatment in temple town Subrahmanya in the taluk, could not escape from the vigilant eyes of the temple staff.

The person who arrived at the temple on Wednesday, claimed himself to be Pakkirappa S, MP from Raichur constituency. After he expressed unhappiness about the accommodation made available, he was provided stay at the temple guest house. When asked about his car, he said it has been sent to some other place. He said he was on a visit to Mysore for the admission of his daughter in a professional course.

The administrative officer developed suspicion about his behaviour. When the man was asked to produce the visiting card by T V Bhat, chairman of the temple governing council, he started claiming himself to be Suresh Babu, personal secretary of the parliament secretary. When the media later questioned him, he said he was from Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumukur.

He was handed over to the local policemen for impersonation thereafter.
