Kundapur: Prisoner of Mysore Jail commits Sucide in Town

Kundapur, Jul 24: Satish Shetty (40), who was undergoing sentence in a murder case and lodged in Mysore Prison, committed suicide in a rented room in the town on Thursday. Shetty was a native of Bailoor in Karkala taluk.

Satish Shetty, sentenced to life imprisonment after being named as the main accused in the murder of Palli Kiran Hegde, was lodged in Mysore jail. He had been released on parole. After staying with his family for a few days, he had hired a room in a flat here on July 22. Reportedly, he had told the room boy on Wednesday that he would be on a visit to Kollur on Thursday.

In a five-page suicide note he has left behind, Shetty said, he was rightly punished for his sins and has asked his body to be given for medical research. Kundapur deputy superintendent of police Vishwanath Pandit, circle inspector K M Chandrashekhar etc., visited the spot and arranged for inquest.
