Bengaluru, Nov 12: As usual, winter is playing spoilsport for the flights, both incoming and outgoing, at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) since the last some days. During the last two days, 189 flight schedules were affected and air operators were found struggling to handle delays, the anger of customers and reschedule timings of flights which had to be diverted elsewhere.

The early morning takes off, landing etc have become very troublesome. Some flights were delayed for up to five hours and several flights were diverted to other cities.

On Monday, November 11 morning, schedules of 56 flights had to be modified. 22 flights which were to take off, and 16 flights which were coming in, were affected. Seven aircraft could land after remaining in the air for some time while three flights were sent to Chennai, seven to Hyderabad, and one to Coimbatore.

66 flights which were to leave for different destinations and 30 flights which were to touch down, were delayed on Sunday. 33 flights hovered in the air as they could not get clearance for landing. They landed after getting clearance. Four aircraft were sent to Chennai.

Thousands of passengers struggled in the terminal because of delays and uncertainties. Many also poured out their anger at the negligence of airlines to serve refreshments to passengers who were made to wait for hours together at the airport, through social websites.
