Kasargod: Food poisoning during fishing trip - One dies, three serious

Kasargod, Nov 12: One died and three of his colleagues were admitted into the hospital in serious condition, due to food poisoning which happened during the period they were aboard a fishing boat.

The deceased was Charlie (55), a resident of Anjuteng in Thiruvananthapuram. Tadayyus (52), son of boat owner Soosadasan, Arokh (60), son of Jarons, and Kilbert (40), son of Silva, who were suffering from acute symptoms of food poisoning were admitted into the government general hospital here.

They were aboard a fishing boat that had left from Thiruvananthapuram a few weeks back, which reached Mangaluru. The other eight members of the team are enjoying normal health.

Kasargod coastal security force police circle inspector said that sample of water from a tank used by the fishing workers has been collected and would be sent to the laboratory for testing.
