"The Kannada Language Learning Act is implemented from 2017. The motto of the act is to teach Kannada as a first or second language in every school. We had called a meeting to check the level of actual implementation of this act at the school level. We have already held two important meetings. The officers have been informed to inspect the situation of Kannada language learning in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. We have got information that 44 schools in Bengaluru are not teaching Kannada. It is decided to serve notice to these schools.

"A report is given in 2017 by the Kannada Development Authority for the strengthening of government schools. There are 21 recommendations in the report submitted by the authority. Those recommendations will be studied and committee will be formed at district and state level. Inspection will be done with regards to the survival and extinction of government schools.

"The central government has given instructions to conduct school census. This will be done from November 20 to December 20. It will be convenient to know the incomplete information from this census in which there are 65 questions. In addition, a separate app is developed for this census. There are 55,965 aided schools in total. As many as 3,731 teams including district DIET personnel, DIET trainers, BRP and CRP,” he said.
