Kundapur, Nov 16: “The one who became prime minister with the help of constitution written by Ambedkar kicking the ladder that he climbed is unforgivable. Ambedkar is being insulted forgetting that Ambedkar was responsible if the one who was selling tea became prime minister,” said Dalit leader Jayan Malpe in anguish.

He was speaking after setting on fire government circular and setting in motion protests by Dalit Sangharsha Samithi at Shastri circle on Friday against the government which they said insulted Ambedkar. There were also protests against the education department and the state government which allegedly published derogatory information against Ambedkar.

“Humanists could not face one Ambedkar. They would not have tolerated if all from exploited community had got educated like the way Ambedkar desired. There are attempts to defame Ambedkar who created constitution on the basis of uniformity, fraternity and relationship,” he said.

Dalit Sangharsha Samithi district convener Manjunath Giliar said that Sangha pariwar and BJP are trying to spoil the name of Ambedkar. “They are pretending that they are paying respects to Ambedkar drawing exploited community towards them to create society of inequality. They are repeating lies again and again to make them look like truth. They are taking the country towards one culture,” he said.

Advocate Vikas Hegde, Ilyas, Sridhar P S, Shaji Abraham, district convener Vasudev Mudoor, taluk convener Raju Bettinamane, organization leader Vasu Nejar, Suresh Barkur, Harish Malpe, Sundar Kappettu, Ganesh Nergi, Pradeep Giliar, Raghavendra, Kumar Kota, Ravi Sunnari, Geeta and others were present.
