Kaup, Jan 20: After a car hit a scooter from behind on national highway 66 at Udyavar near here on Saturday afternoon, a lady identified as Farzana (35), who was riding the pillion, had suffered serious injuries. She later lost her battle for life at a hospital on Saturday night.
Abdul Hameed (45), residing near the Jumma Masjid at Mukka, who was riding the scooter, and his daughter Azeeka, who were admitted into a hospital at Udupi, are recovering.
Hameed was going to Udyavar along with wife and daughter to take part in a marriage function there, when the accident happened. The locals immediately rushed the injured persons to the hospital, but Farazana did not respond to treatments.
A case relating to this accidental death stands registered in Kaup police station.
