Bengaluru, Feb 4: The enmity which arose between two Congress MLAs Anand Singh and J N Ganesh during January 2019 at Eagleton Resort at Biddai here had resulted in filing of criminal complaint against Ganesh by Singh. Recently there was an announcement that these two legislators had reached an accord to close the case through compromise formula and this intention was also made known to the court which is hearing the said complaint.

The case was posted to February 3 for hearing and there were hopes of reaching the compromise there. But MLA Anand Singh, opted to stay away from the high court, thus pushing the already delayed compromise process further. Singh had also remained absent from the court proceedings when the case was last posted to January 22. On that occasion, the court had adjourned the case by giving Singh ten days time to appear in the court.

The application moved by Kampli MLA J N Ganesh for compromise came up for hearing before a single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice B A Patil on Monday. But Anand Singh who was scheduled to appear in the court was not present. Therefore the bench adjourned hearing of the case to February 25.

In the past, advocate for Ganesh had said in the court that Anand Singh was agreeable to compromise but the bench had said that the compromise proposal would be accepted only if the MLA appears in person before the bench and signs affidavit affirming that he wants the case to be closed through compromise.
