Puttur: Youth hangs himself inside protected forest

Puttur, Feb 5: The body of a youth was found hanging from a tree within the limits o government protested forest at Kaniyagundi near Upparahalla bridge on Kokkada road, Golithottu, on Tuesday, February 4.
The deceased has been identified as Jagadeesh (17), son of the late Monappa from Bappalige, Puttur. After his father died a year back, he had started living with his aunt living at Kallapu near Karaya.
Police sub-inspector, Erayya, and police personnel of Nelyady outpost visited the spot and undertook scrutiny. A case stands registered in Uppinangady police station.
It was found that a Dio scooter without number plate was parked by the roadside. As the vehicle remained at the spot since morning, the locals got suspicious and took a closer look, and found that a youth had ended life.
