Kundapur, Feb 5: On Tuesday February 4 afternoon, a delegation representing coastal Karnataka met minster of state for railways Suresh Angadi, at a meeting held at the railway secretariat at New Delhi. Members of the delegation, MP Shobha Karandlaje, and former minister Jayaprakash Hegde, discussed railway issues pertaining to coastal Karnataka with union minister of state for railways Suresh Angadi.

Konkan Railway Corporation managing director, Sanjay Gupta, also participated in the discussions. The delegation drew the attention of the concerned towards the problems faced by people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts who lost their land for railway project. The minister assured that needful would be done in the matter.

At the meeting, Shobha Karandlaje also presented a memorandum demanding a new train between Karwar and Bengaluru. Rail Passengers Welfare Forum Kundapur has already expressed its disapproval of the revised time table resulting in delayed arrival of the train.

President of the forum, Ganesh Putran, said that there is hope that this meeting will become fruitful and there is high expectation that the minsters, MPs and officials will sit together about the conclusion about the new train and its time table, and a suitable decision would be arrived at.
