Mangaluru: ICYM episcopal city deanery holds badminton tournament

Mangaluru, Feb 10: ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organized Badminton Tournament – ECD Cup – 2020 for youths of Episcopal City Deanery on Sunday, February 9, at Fr Muller’s Indoor Stadium from 9:30 am onwards. The tournament began with a prayer song led by Dheeraj Lobo and team.

Fr JB Crasta, vicar forane, episcopal city deanery was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony and Fr Ajith Menezes administrator, Fr Muller’s Medical College, Fr Anil Lobo, Fr Anil Pinto director, ICYM episcopal city deanery, Leon Saldanha president, ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese, and Delitia Pereira president, ICYM episcopal city deanery were present on the dais.

ICYM ECD president Delitia Pereira welcomed the guests and the gathering. The tournament was inaugurated by the guests by playing badminton. Fr JB Crasta addressed the gathering. Total of 33 teams participated in the tournament. Referees for the tournament were Fr Anil Lobo, Chandrashekar and Jayaprakash.

The valedictory programme commenced at 3:30 pm was presided over by Fr Ronald D’Souza director, ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese and Fr Anil Lobo, Fr Anil Pinto director, ICYM ECD, Leon Saldanha president ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese, Veena Vas general secretary, ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese, Minol Braggs PRO ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese and ECD Representative, Delitia Pereira ICYM ECD president, Sonali Rodrigues ICYM ECD secretary were present on the dais.

As a token of gratitude, mementoes were given to the referees by Fr Anil Pinto ICYM ECD director. Fr Ronald D’Souza addressed the gathering and congratulated the participants for active participation in the tournament. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners up by Fr Ronald D’Souza. Fr Anil Pinto, ICYM ECD director rendered the vote of thanks. Dheeraj Lobo ICYM ECD sports secretary and convenor of ECD CUP 2020 compered the program.
