Kundapur: Vandse school gets high-tech toilet complex from Rotary grant

Kundapur, Feb 11: A well-equipped high-tech toilet complex built at a cost of Rs 6,50,000 was handed over to Vandse government model higher primary school in the taluk. The toilet complex has been built out of the final phase donation under the Global Grant scheme of Rotary Foundation with the participation of Rotary district 7070, Rotary district 3182, Rotary Club Vasava (Parkwood) Canada and Rotary Club Chitby Sunrise.

Rotary District 3182 district governor for 2018 - 19, Abhinandan Shetty, unveiled the plaque of the toilet complex. He said that Rotary is the other name of service at global level. He said he is proud that such a huge grant was made to this school and that a global grant of Rs 28 lac has been sanctioned for Narayana special Children's school at Tallur.

Rotary Club Gangolli president, Shivanand, presided over the programme. Various Rotary Club office bearers, panchayat representatives and officials were present.

Global Grant programme coordinator, G Sridhar Shetty, said that under the Global Grant, a school vehicle worth Rs 16,50,000, computer, smart class, technical training to teachers and training to teach English were provided to the school.

SDMC president, Manjunath Ganiga, welcomed the gathering. School headmaster, Chandra Naik, proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher, Sadashiva, presented the programme.
