Bengaluru, Mar 21: Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, has extended total support to the 'Janata Curfew' proposal mooted by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. He said that everyone needs to follow without fail the call for ‘Janata Curfew’ given by the PM.

"We have to understand the concern behind the request made by the Prime Minister for people aged less than ten and above 65 to remain indoors. Our war against the unseen enemy can succeed only if the people show solidarity and participate in it with restraint," he said.

Gowda also hailed the address delivered by the PM to the Indians and the call given by him to be very apt. He said that when epidemics do not have techniques and proper medicines to tackle and tame them, people can face it with self determination and self control.

Through a press statement, he congratulated the central and state governments for the timely measures they have taken to regulate coronavirus spread.
