New Delhi, Apr 3 (IANS): To meet the shortage of doctors in various hospitals, the Haryana government is considering to take services of AYUSH doctors. The state government will soon take a decision on this.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said: "In view of COVID-19, the state government is considering taking the services of AYUSH doctors to provide uninterrupted quality health care services to the people. The doctors also being provided online training for the purpose".

The Chief Minister said this during the video conferencing meeting with the state MPs and, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Haryana Assembly in wake of coronavirus epidemic. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the video-conferencing with the Chief Ministers of various states, has also emphasized on taking services of AYUSH doctors to meet the shortage of doctors in view of the situation arised after COVID-19".

About 13,500 people are under surveillance in Haryana. Sample of 817 people exposed to positive coronavirus patients have been taken, of which 546 have been found to be negative. Currently, there are only 20 positive cases in the state. So far, 33 positive cases have been reported in Haryana and 13 of these patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering.

The most coronavirus patients in Haryana came from Millennium City Gurugram. After tests, 10 persons were found to be corona positive. However, nine out of those 10 patients have recovered completely and have been recharged.

The Haryana government has set up 3,000 bed capacity COVID-19 hospitals at 14 locations in the state, where all necessary arrangements have been made to cure patients.
