Bantwal, Apr 3: The police department carried out strict action by implementing lockdown regulations. They acted against those who went out in vehicles without purpose even after the time allotted to buy essential items.
Bantwal town station SI, Avinash was in charge of operations since the morning under guidance by Bantwal police circle inspector T D Nagaraj and Bantwal DySP, Valentine D’Souza. Police officials asked people near B C Road and Bantwal market to walk only to the nearest shops to buy essential items. They allowed people from villages to go to market only on submission of necessary documents.
Six bikes seized by police:
Bantwal town police personnel seized six bikes belonging to people who gathered at Talapady, Bantwal police station limits even though lockdown section related to Covid-19 is in force.
Bantwal station police SI, Avinash H Gowda was on rounds at about 6 pm when a group of six to eight people gathered near Talapady mosque on purpose to chat.
As the SI got down from his jeep, the people fled leaving behind their bikes. Police personnel took into custody six bikes and registered a case.
