Puttur, Dec 12: The local court has accorded permission to the policemen to exhume the body of Sharada (34) from Peramogru village in the taluk, and subject her mortal remains to post mortem examination and DNA testing.
Sharada had gone missing since January 21 last. Her corpse was found in the toilet of Madikeri court two days later. Serial killer Mohan Kumar has been accused of killing her by giving her cyanide tablet, making her believe that it was a contraceptive pill. As the Madikeri policemen could not identify the body, her body was buried in the public burial ground at Chain Gate in the town.
The Puttur policemen had requested for the court’s permission to disinter the body and conduct fresh tests to confirm her identity and cause of death.
