Puttur: Granite Laden Truck Overturns at Kayarthadka Killing One

Puttur, Dec 13: A daily labourer employed as loader in a granite laden truck died when the truck overturned besides the road at Kayarthadka under the limits of Ilantila village, near here on Sunday December 13. Two others, a loader and truck driver escaped with minor injuries. 

The granite laden truck owned by Laxmi Prasanna transports was on its way ahead of Ilantila, when the truck driver tried to manoeuver his truck in order to let Toyota Qualis pass by and lost the control of his truck resulting in the mishap. As the truck overturned, the loaders seated on loaded granite were thrown away, while the unfortunate loader 26-year-old Manju was crushed beneath the truckload of granite.  



The other loader identified as Farouq and truck driver Lokaiah miraculously escaped with minor injuries.  The locals rushed to the spot and manage to save Farouq and Lokaiah, who were trapped under the overturned truck. 

The ambulance 108 arrived at the spot while the medical professionals offered first aid to the injured.  

Uppinangady police registered a case in this regard.
