Mangalore, Dec 14: A person miraculously escaped with minor injuries when a tree fell on the road in Cascia near Morgans Gate on Monday December 14.

A huge tree in the compound wall of St Rita’s Church here fell on the road in the afternoon. At this point in time, an alert pedestrian, who heard the crackling sound, ran from the vicinity only to escape with minor injuries. He has been admitted to a hospital.

The tree that fell across the road blocked the vehicular traffic and also damaged electricity lines. But the traffic movement was not affected with vehicles traversing through an alternate route. The local youth alerted both the Mescom and the city corporation.

People were heard saying that the incident was nothing short of a miracle as the road was otherwise always busy with traffic.
