Udupi: Welcome Arch of Katpady Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple Inaugurated

The newly-built welcome arch at the access road of Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Yenagudde–Agrahar, Katpady, which was undertaken with a donation of Rs 7 lac by Pune entrepreneur and Ronak Foundation founder chairman Jaya N Shetty, was inaugurated here on Monday December 14.
 
Sri Vishwavallabateerta Swami of Sondhe Math, offered the newly-built welcome arch to the society.



In his message to the gathering, the Swamiji said, “The coastal district is the abode of temples.  All those who contribute to the temple work are doing it out of their commitment to religious activities.  Meanwhile, it is also essential that all the wealthy should also contribute for the prosperity of villages by taking part in development works of various temples across the coastal district”.
 
Sri Laxmivarateerta Swami of Shiroor Math said that the ancient Tulunadu worship of both God and spirit has been the true cultural hierarchy and treasure.  “The natives of the coastal district settled in Mumbai have contributed immensely to the prosperity of undivided Dakshina Kannada.  The contributions of the Bunts community have been significant”, the Swami stressed.
 
Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple managing trustee Y Bharat Hegde presided over the programme.
 
Swami Vishwavallabateerta honoured Ronak Foundation founder chairman Jaya N Shetty and his wife Geetha Shetty, and his mother Vanaja Shetty, on behalf of local villagers.
 
Aroor Sri Vishnumurti Temple managing trustee N B Raghavendra Rao, temple priest Vedamurti Padigar Vasudev Tatri, and religious leader Harish Aithal, Pune, were the chief guests.
 
Murali Krishna Bhat and Madwaraj Bhat delivered the introductory address.  Temple managing committee member Prabhakar Palan compered the programme.  Vasanti Rao Koradkal proposed the vote of thanks.
 
Katpady Sri Vishwanath Temple managing committee vice-president and taluk panchayat member Katpady Shankar Poojary, Kaup Sri Hosamarigudi Temple managing trustee Nadikere Ratnakar Shetty, Chokkady Mahalingeshwar Temple managing trustee Rajendra Puranik, Moodabettu Sri Mahalingeshwar Temple managing trustee Mahabala Ballal, Mattu Sri Vishnumurti Temple managing trustee Vasudev Rao, gram panchayat former president Srikar Suvarna Katpady, Lions Club former governor Dr Ravindranath Shetty, ‘New Nayana’ proprietor Dayanand Shetty, Jayaram Ballal, Kurkal Dinakar Shetty, Rotary president D G Bangera, Pune Buns Sangh vice-president Sudhakar Shetty, secretary Santosh Shetty, entrepreneur Chandrahas Shetty, Bhaskar Shetty, Mohan Shetty, Ashok Shetty, Nagesh Shetty, and Sukumar Shetty were present on the occasion.
