Mangalore, Dec 17: Abdul Razack (22), son of Mohammed, a resident of Yemmemadu village in Kodagu district, who was sent back by the Dubai immigration officials for using the passport of someone else for travelling, reached the local airport on Wednesday December 16.
Razack had left for Dubai by an Air India Express flight on December 14. During the scrutiny, the officials at the Dubai airport found that he was using a passport belonging to another person. Accordingly, he was deported to India.
The immigration officials at the local airport have since handed him over to the Bajpe policemen. It is learnt that Razack, who used to work in a hotel in Bangalore, had used the passport of Palangod Abdul Rehman Mohammed Saffiq for his travel.

Thu, Dec 17 2009I have read several cases of Mangalore Immigration catching fake passport holders at Airport. Also those using FAke passports travelled out of Dubai Airport have been caught at Mangalore Airport. I would say that Dubai and Mangalore Airpot Immigration are doing a commendable job.

Wed, Dec 16 2009Strange ! A person can be identified by his similarity to the photograph on the Passport or his signature on immigration form at the time of boarding and by questioning him about his personal details. How come he crossed all these formalities in Mangalore without being caught ? Imagine the efficiency of our officers whereas Dubai officials managed to identify the impersonator ! The flaw rests in our manual immigration system while Dubai has latest picture of a person in their electronic visa data system. He is lucky that they did not jail him. Time to upgrade our system.
